Oversaw procurement, installation and integration of ICT systems, acquisition and allocation of IT resources.  Digitalised internal requisition & request forms (IRFs) and approval processes. Introduced IT governance and ITIL framework across the group.

  • Reduced operational costs up to 20% by re-assessing all IT setups (applications, hardware, printing solutions etc.), ICT (mobile/SIM, Internet, telephones etc.) and human resources, to control and reduce expenses without impacting business and service levels.

  • Led the IR Portal development project of AMG, for digitalization of internal requisition and request forms (IRFs) and their approval processes.

Oversaw updates and patch management to Microsoft products and security solutions, monitored content security services, and prepared system/applications documentation.

  • Led the entire transition and deployment of all major services and applications of the group to a centrally managed e-hosting (private cloud) facility, thereby decreasing connectivity/remote access costs and increasing quality of service & infrastructure.

  • Engineered successful recovery of Microsoft Exchange 2003 from breakdowns on technical issues, with minimal downtime, on couple of occasions.

  • Installed and configured Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 & TS 2003 Servers and clients.

  • Migrated company email system from MS Exchange 5.5 to MS Exchange 2003 platform through successful installation, configuration and setting of new domain controllers and Exchange servers.

Co-managed all IT and support for over 500 users across 6 group offices in UAE & Oman. Installed and/or maintained entire IT infrastructure and applications. Played key role in selection of ERP system, interfaced with ERP vendors throughout testing and implementation, and trained users on ERP. Developed and maintained documentation for all hardware and software set-ups. Interfaced with account managers, vendors and suppliers.

  • Directed installation in Dubai branch of a standard LAN and Telecom infrastructure with 150 dual points with structured cabling, cabinet and switches.

  • Led 6 member IT support team in engineering rapid recovery from a malware mass attack of over 50 PCs and devised precautions to avoid future attacks, in a sister company.

  • Performed role of project coordinator in successful setup and implementation of NTS ERP with Oracle 9i as backend at several company sites in UAE and Oman.

  • Configured Symantec AV Enterprise Edition including server-client architecture and SMSME support throughout the group and branch offices.

Faridabad, during coding and implementation phases.  The system generated 70+ (fortnightly, monthly, seasonal and annual) reports  including fortnightly  and  monthly pay slips  and  quarterly bonus slips, along with normal, seasonal and incentive based wages calculation for the production units/workers. The platform was MS COBOL on Unix IV.

  • Worked as core developer in the 'Piece Rated Wages System' project, for Bharat Coking Coal Ltd., India. The BCCL had 8000+ daily workers  working  in  48 collieries. My assignment was to design & develop Working Storages, cross-check data entry forms and 20% of the reports. The environment was ICL’s Series-39 Mainframe under VME-COBOL.
